Funeral services for Mary Louise Turner of Welch, Texas, will be Tuesday, Nov 30, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Mary Louise Turner of Welch, Texas, passed away Nov. 26, 2010, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 86. She was born on May 8, 1924, in Olney, Texas, to Henry and Nettie Petty Guinn. Louise graduated from Valley View High School in Valley View, Texas.

Mary Louise Guinn and Ted Turner were married Dec. 17, 1949, in Brownfield, Texas. He passed away on May 25, 1994.

Louise was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Welch United Methodist Church. She was a member of Dawson County R.V. Club and Lamesa Bridge Club. Louise was a Girl Scout leader and a Sunday School teacher. She was a gardener and artist. Louise loved traveling, camping and taking cruises around the world.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Ann Middleton of Welch, Texas; one son, Sid Turner of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters, Edna Pearl Mikusch of Chicago, Ill., Katherine Gardner of Tuscon, Ariz., and Mildred Walker of Houston, Texas; and two brothers, Herbert Carlton and Henry Milton Guinn, both of Graham, Texas.

Louise was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Derwin, Harold Keith, Frederic Wendell and Richard Noel Guinn, and her parents, Henry and Nettie Guinn.

The family suggests that memorials be sent to Cal Farley Boys Ranch.
