George E. Shreck
ROY - George Earl Shreck, 80, of 2071 W. 5400 S., died Sunday evening in St. Benedict's Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Shreck was born July 15, 1893, in Bloomfield, N.M., a son of George A. and Anna Lou Fields Shreck. He had formerly been a gas station owner and operator in Ogden and was a former member of the Utah Petroleum Industry. He was the original owner and founder of the Yellow Cab Co. in Ogden. He was married to Marie M. Dodson on Dec. 3, 1921, in Ogden. He was reared and educated in Durango, Colo., and came to Ogden when 25 years of age. He later lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 12 years where he worked for the Matanuska Valley Bus Co. and the Hoyt Motor Co. He later returned to Ogden. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ogden. Surviving are his widow of Roy; one son, Donald T. Shreck, Riverdale; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Jean) Jolley, Roy; Mrs. Paul (Floy) Hopple, Sunnyvale, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. In the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Rev. Bronston Greenwood of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
