Pioneer Gone Home.

Died: Father Levi Kiser, aged 84 years, 2 months and 7 days, quietly passed away at the home of his son, J.S. Kiser in North Leon, Thursday morning, Nov. 28th, 1907, at 6 o'clock, after a few days suffering from a paraletic stroke and too, his age was against him.

He was a good man, a child of God, and a member of the Christian church. Not only relatives miss him but friends realize the loss of a precious citizen.

Mr. Kiser was one among the earliest settlers in Leon and his work in our town stands today as a monument of his many days spent here.

He moved to Butler county in 1881, engaging in the mercantile business here, was first mayor and a member of teh West Leon Town Company, moved to El Dorado in 1898, making his home with Mrs. M.E. Dick in that city and vicinity until in August last, when he came here to live with his son.

Deceased was born in Green county, Ohio, when five years old, he moved with his parents to Tippecanoe County, Indiana, where he grew to manhood. In 1849 he was married to Elizabeth K. Chester, who departed this life in 1873; to them were born nine children, seven of whom are yet living, being: J.S. Kiser, of Leon, C.C. Kiser, of Pawhuska, Okla., L.L. Kiser, of El Dorado, Mrs. M.E. Dick, of Wichita, Mrs. H.D. Seymour, Mrs. T.H. Martin and Mrs. G.M. Knight, all of Denver, Colorado.

Funeral services was held at the Christian church Friday at 10:30 a.m., by Elder F.J. Stinson, pastor of the El Dorado Christian church, after which the remains were taken to the cemetery north of town and deposited beneath the sod to await the judgement call.

The bereaved ones have the keenest sympathy of many friends.
