Samuel Peter Boaz, aged 82, of near Moores' Mill, died Wednesday morning from the infirmities of age.
Mr. Boaz was among the best citizens of Henry County.
He was an ex-Confederate Soldier and a member of the Mayo Baptist Church for half a century.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Mayo Baptist Church, and the remains were interred in the church cemetery.
He is survived by the following children: James S. Boaz, Martinsville; Fletcher Boaz and P. L. Boaz, Moores' Mill; Mrs. John Young, Bassett and Mrs. Thomas Taylor, Spencer.
