LEEDS, Mass. -- Austin Atkinson, Jr., 78 of North Main Street, formerly of New Haven, died July 29. He was the widower of Dorothy Williams Atkinson of Los Angeles. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include daughters: Lethia Wedgworth of Kennesaw, GA., Christine Howze, Dorothy McEntire and Jacqueline Rivers of Los Angeles, and Geneva Pollock of New Haven; brothers: Clarence and Charles Atkinson of New Haven; sisters: Mary Joyner, Pastor Mattie Darden and Nora McCleese of New Haven, and Virginia Griffin of Newbern, NC; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters: Stella Mae Atkinson and Minnie Atkinson Joyner.
