Jason Albert Adkins, 83, son and last survivor of Edward S. and Helen A. Adkins, pioneer family of Lane county, died at his home on Fern Ridge, Saturday, Jan. 6, 1940, after a brief illness.
Mr. Adkins was born March 4, 1856 on the donation claim on Fern Ridge where his parents settled after crossing the plains in 1851, and where he has lived all of his life. He was a life member of the Christian church and is survived by his wife, Josephine F. and three daughters, Mrs. Vileta White of Eugene, Mrs. Alberta Frost of Portland, Mrs. Geraldine Drew of Junction City route 1, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Millers chapel in Junction City. Interment will be in the Franklin cemetery.
