MATTOON - Joseph Milton Baker, 65, of Mattoon Il, died on 14 November 2010 at Roudebush Veterans Medical Center in Indiana, IN. Mr. Baker served in two tours in Vietnam while in the Navy and is a decorated veteran with three medals and the bronze star. Mr. Baker was a lifetime member of the VFW. His biggest enjoyments in life were family, friends, and football. Mr. Baker was a brick mason and his work stands proud across the US at both Military and civilian sites. He was born on 4 October 1945 in Quantico, Virginia to Walter "Jack" and Margaret "Peggy" Butler-Baker now deceased. His twin brother, James Louis Baker also preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife Janice Baker of Mattoon, IL. Joseph leaves the following children: Christine Marie Baker of CA., Frank Rader and wife Dawn of Mattoon, Il; Anna Marie Baker of Ruther Glen, VA. Stepson, Ed and wife Rhonda Rader of Shelbyville, Il, and stepdaughter Jeanette Colbert of Knoxville, TN., Brother-in-law Larry and wife Linda McFarland, sisters-in-law, Mrs. James Louis (Pam) Baker & Mrs. Steven (Penny) Huber. Nieces and nephews, Beth and Mary Baker-Bowles, CJ and Tricia Baker-McClure, Jamie and Amanda Baker, Dan and Shannon Baker, David and Julie Baker-Cole, Albert and Melissa Nahser-Baker all of Virginia. Survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One special cousin, Connie Shinkle of Batavia, OH and her sons Terry and Todd. Mr. Baker will be greatly missed. There will be a funeral for family and friends at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, VA, at 12pm on 30 November 2010, followed by a burial at Quantico National Cemetery.
