Born to Olen Denton and Edith Laverne (Carlton) Atteberry February 10, 1950 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Fred grew up in Atoka, attending Atoka School. He later worked for the Fina Truck Stop in Savanna for several years and for McAlester Public Schools. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Savanna First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Mark Atteberry, of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Jennifer Truong and husband, Mark, Barling, Ark.; grandson, Matthew Truong, Barling. Also, brothers, Darrell Atteberry and wife, Glenda, of Coleman, Bruce Atteberry, of Tishomingo, and Andy Atteberry, of Coleman, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Edith Atteberry, and a brother, Burnis "Burnie" Atteberry. Pallbearers will be Tom Rumsey, Mark Truong, Mark Atteberry, Darrell Atteberry, Andy Atteberry and Bruce Atteberry. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Savanna Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Bob Kendrick officiating. Burial will be at Savanna Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
