Mrs. Martha Hollabaugh died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary C Shipman, near Monks, Sunday evening, June 19th 1904, after a long illness.
Grandma Hollabaugh was in her 87th year, and was one of the early settlers of Searcy County, coming here from Tennessee some time in the forties. She leaves five children, besides grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren to mourn her loss. Her living children are E T Hollabaugh of Dixie, I T [sic]; Mrs. Mary C Shipman of Monks; Mrs. Jane Thomas of Abbott,Texas, and Mrs. Rosanna Griffin of Leslie. Thus one by one the old veneable landmarks are passing away to their reward in the Great Beyond. (submitters note: Martha's two living sons were E F Hollabaugh of Searcy Co and J A Hollabaugh of Dixie, Indian Territory, Oklahoma - both now linked below)
