Roy L. Buckley, 85 of Sapulpa passed away from this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Muskogee Veteran's Center, Muskogee, Okla. He was a self-employed electrician.

Roy was born in Battlecreek, Mich. on April 29, 1925 to Ralph and Pearl Buckley. He was a Sapulpa graduate. He joined the Navy from 1943 to 1946 and served in World War II. In 1947 he married JoAnn Ptak and out of this union three children were born, Ronnie, Sue and Jolynn. In his retirement days he moved to Lake Eufaula where he met a lot of new friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, two daughters, Jolynn (Buckley) Archer, Sue (Buckley) Powers and grandson, Jerrid Buckley.

Survivors are Ronnie and wife Ginger; sister, Blanch Young; sons-in-law, Randy Archer and Jack Powers; seven grandchildren; lots of great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that he touched our lives and will remember him forever.

Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, Okla. Officiating the service will be the Reverend Vernon Howard. Interment to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
