Mr. Carroll Piland of Boston, Ga. died Nov. 22, at his residence.
Born Feb. 14, 1939, in Valdosta, Ga., he was a son of the late William Leonard Piland and Mary Emma Hunnewell.
On Dec. 25, 1985, in Thomasville, he married Louvenia Fulgham Piland who preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2001.
He was a groundskeeper at Millpond Plantation for 30 years and a member of Five Forks Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Dewayne Piland of Boston, Joel Lee Piland of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughters, Thelma and Angel; brother, Leonard; sister, Pat; grandchildren, Rebecca Piland, Carroll Jr., Samantha, Eleni, Thomas, Victoria, Tabathia, Hope.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Hope Jean Piland; and his sister, Carolyn Mathis.
