Eunice was the daughter of Stephen Seeley, b between 1750 and 1760 in USA, NY, Saratoga, Ballson, d about 1824 in USA, NY, Saratoga, Charlton, and Ruth Odell, b about 1746 in USA, NY, Saratoga County, d 1840 in USA, MI, Somerset, Hillsdale, at the home of her granddaughter, Cynthia (Wilson) Chamberlain.
Eunice is buried with her grandson, Stephen Wilson, who died the day before she did.
Slightly different stories are told in various accounts of the removal of Eunice's body from its original burial place and re-interment in Greenwood Cemetery. The newspaper clipping posted to this memorial is just one of those accounts. Because of the different reports, and the deaths of all those who were old enough to remember the actual removal, and who did not pass down any stories (perhaps because they thought it was no one's business), it is not known exactly what condition Eunice's body was in. Information from presently living family members is that they were told Eunice and her grandson Stephen, who died the day before Eunice, were buried in the same casket. None of the accounts note the presence of a child's body in the casket with Eunice. May we now allow this lady to rest in peace?
