Dixie E. Brunton, 80, Topeka, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Brewster Place. Mrs. Brunton had worked for the State of Kansas Department of Health and Environment. She was born April 10, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of L. Dean and Edna Shibe Peters. She graduated from St. Marys College in Leavenworth in 1945. Mrs. Brunton was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. She married Vernon Brunton on Dec. 26, 1953, in Ottawa. He died Oct. 27, 1980. Mrs. Brunton also was preceded in death by a son, Peter T. Brunton, on June 14, 1956; a brother, Edmund Peters; and a sister, Anita Grimes. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Brunton, Honolulu, and Peter B. Brunton, Topeka; two stepsons, Jack Brunton, Bellevue, Wash., and Jere Brunton, Greenwood, Calif.; and a daughter, Patrice Brunton, Topeka.
