Mr. David Kent Dial, 53, of Troy died at Dyersburg Regional Hospital Nov. 21, 2010.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Frank Dalton officiating. Burial followed in Troy at Terrace Hill Cemetery. Masonic services were observed.

The family received friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers were David Lee, John Barker, Tony Patterson, Dick McNeil, Neven Barnett and Brent Dial. Honorary pallbearers were members of Troy Western Sun Lodge No. 88 F&AM and good friends.

The family requests that memorials be made to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

He was born Aug. 10, 1957, in Obion County, son of Bobby and Joanne (Cunningham) Dial of Troy. He married the former Melanie Elaine Gatewood Dec. 6, 1996. She survives. He was a mechanic, a cattle farmer and farmer. A member of New Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he was a member of Al Chymia Shrine and a member of Troy Western Sun Lodge No. 88, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a Scottish Rite.

He is also survived by two daughters and his son-in-law, Jennifer Dial of Union City and Jessica and Grant McGuire of Hornbeak; his sister, Debbie Barker of Troy; two brothers, Mike Dial and Greg Dial, both of Troy; his grandson, Gavin McGuire of Hornbeak; and several nieces and nephews.
