C. H. Haywood Jr. Succumbs At 63

Mathews - Charles Henry Haywood Jr., 63, a Mathews County commercial fisherman, died at his home at Motorun after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary I. Haywood of Motorun; four daughters, Mrs. Elwood Hudgins of New Point, Mrs. William Slaughter of Mathews, Miss Ellen S. Haywood and Miss Lois C. Haywood, both of Motorun; seven sons, Milton W. Haywood of Motorun, Avery T. Haywood of Deltaville, Paul V. Haywood of Motorun, Jesse Haywood of Bavon, Franklin D. Haywood of Motorun; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Forrest of Diggs and Mrs. Herman french of Washington; eight brothers, Lionel Haywood and Earl Haywood, both of Motorun, Bonnie Haywood of Shadow, R. D. Haywood and Cecil Haywood of Bavon, Robbie Haywood of Portsmouth, Buddy Haywood of Norfolk and John M. Haywood of Gloucester.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Cemetery in Susan with military honors. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. W. C. Diggs, assisted by the Rev. Morgan S. Smart.
