Joseph DeBaun of Clarence, died Tuesday in St. Mary's hospital where he was taken Monday for treatment for obstruction of the bowels, having been unexpectedly taken ill in his home Monday. For ten years he conducted a grocery store in Decatur disposing of that interest last fall and going to Shelby county to make his home.
Joseph K. DeBaun was born April 27, 1854, in Mercer county, Ky., where he was married when he was 18 years of age to Amanda DeShazer. Following their marriage they moved to Shelby county, where her death occurred in 1895. In 1917 he was married to Sisely Shadeon.
He leaves his wife and the following named children; E. S. DeBaun, Mrs. Ora Navin, Mrs. Erma Nalefski of Decatur; J. DeBaun of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Ida Eckhard of Denver, Col.; and Samuel P. DeBaun of Canada. There are three grandchildren.
