Clarence J. Gabel Sr.
Born March 17, 1931 in Hardin, MT passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Barberton, OH. Clarence was honorably discharged from the US Air Force in 1950. He then traveled to Wilmington, DE where he married his lifelong partner of 55 years, Marguerite and began a family.
He moved to Barberton, OH in 1969 and began working for the City of Barberton where he retired after many years of service. Clarence loved fishing, playing cards, and bingo but nothing compared to spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Marguerite (Montcalmo) Gabel; his children Clarence Gabel Jr. of Barberton, Mark (Georgene) Gabel of Barberton, Joseph Gabel of Massillon, Angelina (Timothy) Samples of Clinton and Christopher (Pamela) Gabel of Barberton; he also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sarah, Amy (Michael), Michael, Jennifer (Paul), Mark (Stephanie), Joseph, Nicholas, Vanessa (Bryce), Timothy (Molly), Nathan (Ashley), Ben (Nicole), Gerald (Claire), Kathleen, Christopher, Melissa (Timothy), Shalee, Joshua (Kylee), Daniel and Haley and numerous great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Anthony Montcalmo (Bonnie), sister-in-law Angeline Ceresini (Phillip) and 9 siblings.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 22, at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave., Barberton, OH with Father James Singler officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
