Know all men by these presents that we DAVID MILLER, FREDERICK MILLER, nd WILLIAM HERMAN are firmly bound unto the state of North Carolina in the sum of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS current money to be paid to the said State of North Carolina.

To the which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 22nd day of July Anno Domini 1840

We the undersigned appointed as a committee to lay off and set apart for the WIDOW of ABSOLOM BOLICK, DEC'D her years maintenance ten bushels of wheat twenty five bushels of corn two hogs her choice ten lb coffee seven lb sugar one bubushel salt 1/2 lb pepper 1/2 spice 1/2 ginger all the potatoes growing all the cotten and flax on hand one bed and bedstead one spining wheel and cards three dishes and three crocks one iron pot all the hay on hand the meat on hand one spelling book all the yarn on hand one box and her umbrella one pitcher
