Gerald L. Yunk, 61, of 1278 Timberland Trails, formerly of Salem, died of a heart attack at 9:55 a.m. Sunday at his home at Altamont Springs, Florida.

Born Nov. 9, 1936, in Salem, he was the son of Michael and Elizabeth Fleischer Yunk.

Yunk, a 1955 graduate of Salem High School, had been employed as a medical equipment representative with M & S Medical Inc. in Florida. He was previously employed at Salem Label Co. In 1979 he moved from Salem to Florida. His memberships include St. Paul Catholic Church and Salem Saxon Club Branch 19. From 1956 to 1960 he served in the Air Force.

Besides his father of Salem, he leaves his wife, the former Theresa M. Juliano, whom he married March 4, 1962; a daughter, Julia C. Yunk of Altamonte Springs; and a sister, Marlene Snyder of Alliance.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Yunk.
