Mr. Hasty, a native of Lansing, had resided in Shafter for 10 years. He was a graduate of Columbia University, where he received B.C. and master degrees in educational administration. He also worked for the federal government as a production training specialist. Survivors include a son, Fred Hasty of Shafter. Memorials made be made to the American Cancer Society.
