Margaret and William married in Iowa. They were suppose to have lived in Chicago running a restaurant or shop near the Water Tower of present day downtown Chicago. They then moved to Knox, North Dakota and farmed (Knox is no longer on the map, but it is south of Brandon, Manitoba). On this farm they had a tornado when Edward Brown Montgomery was a few days from being born. The house was destroyed and the family had to live with the Browns. Hence, Edward's middle name was given in gratitude. The family moved to Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan in 1912. William and Oscar Montgomery came to settle on the home farm in 1910. Margaret became ill with the flu in 1919 and returned to Iowa to be with her family where she died. All of her children were born in the U.S.
