Son of Jesse J Allnett & Margaret Josephine (Early) Allnett. Husband of Ethel May (Danforth) Allnett. In addition to postmaster, he was also a butcher.

Veteran Mountain Postmaster Dies
J.W. Allnett, Brownsville postmaster and for 40 years a resident of that district of Yuba county, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday morning. He had been ill only briefly and his death was a painful surprise to his many friends there and in Marysville.

Allnett was for many years a leader in his community. For 25 years he operated a meat market there, then became the town's merchant. He had been prominent in the Odd Fellows lodge, serving for years before his death as secretary. He was also a leader in the Townsend club of the district. He was 58 years old.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Allnett of Brownsville, and a sister, Mrs. J. Rumer of Oakland.

The body was brought to Marysville Saturday by Lipp & Sullivan.

Funeral rites will be held in the Brownsville Odd Fellows hall Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in the cemetery at that place, with the Odd Fellows conducting their burial rites.
