George D. Hancock, s/o Robert Brockman Hancock & Nancy "Nanny" Elizabeth Overton, was born 11 January 1871 in Shelby County, Kentucky. In 1880 at 9 years of age he resided with his parents and his brother, Robert A. Hancock, in Hardinsville, Shelby County, Ohio. (1880 Census)

By 7 January 1920 George (48y) is listed as married to Lida Hancock (41y, born KY). They are renting a residence in Belmont (town), South Point, Gaston County, North Carolina. He is listed as a merchant selling retail merchandise.

In 1930 he is renting and living in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She is listed as Lida J. Hancock.
