Emmett Richard Austin was the son of William Jackson "Jack" Austin and Susan "Susie" Lewis Austin.
He was the Grandson of Robert Lewis, Jr. and Mary "Polly" Whittenburg Lewis, and the G-Grandson of Robert Lewis and Sarah Cagle Lewis of "Lewis Mountain" in Marshall Co., AL.
Emmett's Mother died in 1907 and his Father along with some of his other siblings moved to Texas. Emmett remained in Marshall Co., AL and made his home there.
