W.D. Howsley married Miss Annette Matthews in 1883 at Fort Griffin, Throckmorton County, Texas.

W.D. Howsley, 81, father of Andrew M. Howsley, unsuccessful candidate for Texas Senator of of the 24th district, died following an illness of several months.

He had been a resident of Throckmorton County, Texas since 1870.

Survived by his wife; children - L.A. Howsley, W.D. Howsley, Jr., Mrs. Stanton D. Liles, Mrs. John T. Davis of Throckmorton; Mrs. W.K. Crawley of Lamesa; Mrs. Dutton J. Bailes of Seymour, Andrw M. Howsley of Albany.

Service was held at the First Methodist Church in Throckmorton, Texas.

Howsley was the last surviving charter member of the old Fort Griffin Masonic Lodge. He was chair of the Throckmorton Democratic Executive committee since 1912.
