Edsall attended a rural school called Koger. He later graduated from Olney High School in 1935. He attended Texas A&M and Texas Tech for a short time.
He was a rancher, Mason and member of the Elbert Methodist Church. He lived most of his life on the Edsall Ranch, which began in 1884.
Survived by two daughters - Wanda Adams of Elbert and Judy McClymont of Wichita Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
