HENRY LEE KING

Services for Henry Lee King, 69, 304 Mariposa St., are pending at Denton Funeral Home.

Mr. King died Monday (Oct. 28, 1991) at Guadalupe Medical Center.

He was born March 17, 1922, in Deming, finishing high school in Albuquerque. He participated in the U.S. Navy's V12 program and finished two years of college. Mr. King served in the U.S. Marines from 1941 through 1945.

On April 19, 1946, he married Ruth Smith in Boise, Idaho. They moved to Deming in 1947 and lived there until moving to Carlsbad in 1981. Mr. King worked as full time voting machine technician and part-time as the ordinance enforcement officer for Eddy County until his retirement in February 1989.

Mr. King was a member of the Elks Lodge 1558, and he was a skilled craftsman, enjoying his hobbies of carpentry and automotive work.

Memorial may be made to the Nursing Scholarship through the Carlsbad Foundation or charity of choice.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Carlsbad; two sons, David Lee King, Albuquerque, Karl Daniel King, Deming; one daughter, Kay Huebner, Linglestown, Pa.; three sisters Mary Gregg and Lin McDaniel, both of Deming, Betty Cole, Mesquite, Nev.; and six grandchildren.

Services for Henry Lee King, 69, 304 Mariposa, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Denton Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Gary Fine, pastor of the Rstoration Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
