Harold F. Gwyn Sr.

Naxera - Harold F. Gwyn Sr., 78, of Naxera, died Thursday in Riverside Hospital.

He retired as an agent for State Farm Insurance Agency after 30 years. He also retired as owner and operator of Gwyn Motors. He was a member of Servern Presbyterian Church, its trustee board and its deacon board and was past treasurer and elder emeritus. He belonged to the Gloucester Ruritan Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Horace Haywood of Mathews; a son, Harold F. Gwyn Jr. of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. Elva Sterling of Naxera; a brother, Patrick H. Gwyn of Newport News; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Severn Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Joel Whitten. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church by 1 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 in Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Severn Presbyterian Church cemetery fund.
