Chico Daily Record, Saturday, October 5, 1912, pg 4 col 4: Claimed by Death After Long Illness. Mrs. W.D. Morgan, Resident of Chico Eight Years, to be Buried Tomorrow. Mrs. Lefe Gertrude Morgan, died at the family home, 1415 Bidwell avenue, early yesterday morning after an illness of five months.
The deceased is survived by a husband, William D. Morgan, two small children and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Mears of Massachusetts, who came here a week ago to care for Mrs. Morgan during her illness.
The deceased was born in West Strobridge [sic], Mass., forty-four years ago. She moved to Northampton while a girl and was married in that city. She came to Chico about eight years ago. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the local Presbyterian church.
Rev. W.A. Hunter will officiate at the funeral this afternoon from the family home in Chapmantown at 2:30 o’clock. Burial will be made in the local cemetery.
