WESLEY, July 10--Jacob Woodling, a highly respected citizen, died at his home in Irwin township, on the morning of July 7, after an illness of five weeks. Mr. Woodling was born in Clarion county, Pa., in June, 1815, and was therefore in his 79th year. In August 1837, he was married to Tamer Barr, of Lewiston, Mifflin county, Pa., In 1853, he moved with his family to this county. He is survived by his wife and small children and one adopted child. They are as follows: John of Jackson Centre, Pa; Cline, of Remington, Pa; Robert, of Edenburg, Pa; Mrs. Clinton Hoffman and Mrs. H.B. Hardy of Wesley, Pa., and Mrs. W.D. Hoffman, of Clintonville. The remains were laid to rest in the Barkeyville cemetery, where they were followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the whole community. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Hovis, assisted by Rev. Mr. Perrine.


(Note: The Mrs. H.B. Hardy is believed to be their adopted grandaughter Lilly Jane Barr. Another daughter Matilda Jane is believed to have died young and was never mentioned in earlier census records or in his will while Lilly is mentioned and is still living with them in 1870. His will also mentions his five children which would be John Barr, Cline, Robert, Anna, Caroline.)
