Edward Huss, a well and favorably known young man, formerly of Genoa, died at Mercy Hospital, at Pittsburgh, Pa., on Saturday night, June 29th, 1901, from an operation. Mr. Huss had been in Pittsburgh for the past several weeks and had taken ill. The cause of his illness upon being discovered was appendicitis and there was only one chance for him to live and that was through an operation, but Edward did not survive the shock. His remains arrived in Genoa Monday evening and the funeral services were held at the M.E. church Tuesday afternoon, July 2nd, Reverend C.A. Parks officiating. His remains were laid to rest in Woodville cemetery. He was about 22 years of age and was highly respected by his associates. He leaves a father, brother, and host of friends and relatives to mourn his departure.
