Mabel was the only daughter and the oldest child of Amos Tomlinson Krusen and Matilda Cornell (Fetter) Krusen. She was born in Grenoble, Northampton Township, Bucks County. She was first married to Chittick C. Kirk. They were the parents of five children. (Four lived to adulthood and had families) They had a daughter named Matilda Anna Melissa Kirk, she only lived for about 1 day. After Chiitick's death in 1919, Mabel continued to live on the Kirk farm until about 1930. In 1935, she transferred the farm to her oldest son Amos K. Kirk, Sr. Also sometime around 1930, she married her brother-in-law Jesse Heston. They lived in his home in Furlong, Bucks County during their marriage. After Jesse's death in 1952, she lived in several places. Sometime in the early 1960's she had two strokes, She then went to live at the Clearview Nursing Home in Richboro. She lived there until her death in 1968. She was survived by one brother. She was preceded in death by her daughter Pearl Atkinson, who died in 1958. Mabel is buried with her first husband, Chittick.
