OBITUARY

James Durward Harlow
PORTERVILLE, Calif. ? James Durward Harlow, 86, formerly of Lindsay, Calif., died Thursday, July 13, 2006.
Born in Glasgow on Sept. 20, 1919, he was the son of the late Jimmie Harlow and Minnie McCoy Harlow. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He owned and operated three gas station, including Harlow?s Flying A Service Station in downtown Lindsay. He was also a police officer for the Lindsay Police Department for 17 years. After retiring from the police department, he worked as a security guard for the Lindsay Olive Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; two daughters, Kathryn Deisman and her husband Bill, and Eileen Cercado, both of California; five grandchildren, Matt, Krysta and Shannon Cercado, Jason Deisman and Mari Ibbs; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise McGuire and husband J.D., and Joyce Jones and husband Doug, all of Glasgow; three brothers, Lawrence Harlow, Leslie Harlow and wife Linda, and Ronnie Harlow and wife Shelia, all of Glasgow; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Martin; a brother-in-law, Leo Martin; and three brothers, Lester, Harold and Rex Harlow.
Graveside services were today at 10 a.m. at the Lindsay Strathmore Public Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Optimal Hospice.
Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay, Calif., is in charge of arrangements.
