Find-A-Grave photo volunteer Tony Rudolph searched the entire cemetery in Dec 2013 but could not find a marker for Jerusha McFadden. Jerusha is believed to have died c1901.

Jerusha Dare Smith was the sixth of eight known children of Leonard Smith Jr. (1781-1847) and Susannah Holmes Smith (1788-1844), who married 02 Mar 1805 at Rowan (in the part that is now Davidson?) County, North Carolina.

Jerusha first married to Alexander (went by Alex) Walk (1813-1871) in c1837 in presumably Tipton County, Tennessee. Jerusha and Alex were the parents of thirteen known children, namely:

1. Susan (Ann? or E.?) Walk Archer (1838-1915)

2. Thomas Benton Walk (1840-1912)

3. Sarah M. Walk Holshauser (1842-1866)

4. Augustus Washington Walk (1844-1909)

5. Lucy Ann Walk McIntosh (1846-1866)

6. Ransom Walk (1848-a1860)

7. Nancy Alice Walk Yarbro (1849-1871)

8. George Alexander Walk (1850-1932)

9. Oscar Lafayette Walk (1853-1873)

10. Albert (Abner?) John Walk (1855-1912)

11. Frances "Fannie" M. Walk Shelton (1857-c1892-1900)

12. Edmund Anderson Walk (1862-1898)

13. Jefferson Davis Walk (1863-1892)

In 1850 the Alex Walk family was living at Tipton County, Tennessee. They were still living there in 1860 (page 416 on the census) with the parents and children: Thomas, Augustus, Lucy, Nancy, George, Oscar, Albert J. and Frances M. At the time of the 1870 census the family was living at District 12, Tipton County, Tennessee (page 174 on the census) with the last six children and another child who name can't be read (age 5?).

After Alex died, Jerusha re-married to the Rev. Nathan Hays McFadden (1808-1890) on 27 Nov 1873 at Tipton County, Tennessee. In 1880 N.H. McFadden, Jerusha, his step-son Jefferson Walk, and a step-grand-daughter: E.M. Yarbro (age 13) (perhaps Eva Mildred Yarbro (1868-1941)) at Tipton County, Tennessee. In 1900 Jerusha was living with the widow of her son Edmund Anderson Walk at Tipton County, Tennessee.

The obituary of the son George Alexander Walk says he was the last living of thirteen children, which matches the listing above.

Links to Jerusha's parents, both of her two known husbands, nine of her thirteen known children and five of her seven known siblings are included below.
