William G. (Sony) Denyer Jr., age 86 of Seguin, passed away on Nov. 10, 2010.

Graveside services and interment with military honors and masonic rites will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Pastor Donald Ofsdahl officiating.

Sony was born on Sept. 17, 1924 in Galveston, Texas to William Gerorge and Patricia Denyer. He proudly served during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps as a flight officer and a pilot and served later in the United States Air Force where he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.

He retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot where he was a Flight Training Supervisor. He was a 50 year mason and is a member of Del Mar Lodge No. 1350 A. F. & A. M. in Corpus Christi. He was also a member of the Alzafar Shrine. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Vera Denyer; daughter, Irys Hicklin and husband William; grandchildren, Lori Hicklin, Robin Caddy and husband Lyle and William Denyer Hicklin; great-grandchildren, Sidney Hicklin, Denyer Caddy and Leigh Anne Hicklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607or to the Guadalupe County Humane Society, P. O. Box 1593, Seguin Texas 78155-1593.
