The Sturgis News, Sturgis, Kentucky July 27, 1977: Mrs. Russie Sheffer, 62 of Clay, died at 3:38 PM Wednesday, July 20, at the Henderson Methodist Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Carmon of Clay and Carlos of Dixon, KY, two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Beeson of Moab, UT, and Mrs. Sue McKinley of WY, four sisters, Mrs. Joe Turner and Mrs. Neara Turner, both of Dixon, Mrs. Frank Daley of Madisonville, and Mrs. Charles Latham of Sturgis, five brothers, Wes Turner of Henderson, Amos and Charles Edward Turner both of St. Louis, MO, and Forest Thomas Turner of Providence and Harold Turner of Clay, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Services were held on Sunday at the Vanover Funeral Home in Clay with burial in the White Oak Cemetery. Entered into Eternal Rest Wednesday, July 20, 1977.
