Kathy Atteberry, 74, of St. Augustine, passed away on Nov. 12, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Chuckey, Tenn., and lived most of her life in Japan and Tucson, Ariz., before recently moving to St. Augustine. A devoted wife and mother, Kathy spent more than 20 years as a missionary in Japan with her husband Dudley, raising her family of five sons, and ministering to the people of Japan. She continued her ministry in Tucson as a member of the Japanese Christian Church of Tucson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Atteberry.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Atteberry of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joel Atteberry of Tucson; Timothy Atteberry of St. Augustine; Daniel Atteberry of Maui, Hawaii; and Nathanael Atteberry of St. Augustine; brothers, Harry McKee, Kenny McKee, Herb McKee, Charles McKee, and Paul McKee, all of the Canton, Ohio area; and 11 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Craig Memorial Park, with Pastor Smiley Sturgis officiating.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
