Fred C. Bieber, 88, of 7166 Rt. 405 Highway, Montgomery, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit in Muncy Creek Township of Adenocarcinoma of prostate.

His wife of 51 years, the former Helen L. Whitmoyer, died Nov. 10, 1986.

He was employed by the Tidewater Pipe Co. from 1931 until 1954. He then worked in the maintenance department at Keystone Filler until 1978, when he retired after 23 1/2 years of service.

He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Watsontown.

Surviving are one son, Robert R. Bieber of Montgomery; one daughter, Laura R. Bartlow of Muncy; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Muncy Cemetery on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. W. Stevens Shipman, Jr.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Wallis-Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
