Gerhard John Hinn, 86, of 188 S. Royal Ave., and formerly of the Town of Empire, died Monday, May 7, 1990, at Americana Healthcare Center.

He was born Oct. 19, 1903, in Fond du Lac, a son of Otto Jacob and Eva Mertys (sic: Mertes) Hinn. On Nov. 28, 1942, he married Helen Rose Baus at St. Mary's Church, Eldorado.

Mr. Hinn farmed from 1944 to 1985 on [the] Hinn Farm, Route 5, Rogersville Road in the Town of Lamartine. He moved to Fond du Lac in 1985. Mr. Hinn was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Woodhull, and a former member of the church's Holy Name Society. He was a member of St. Louis Church.

Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Martin Baus and his wife Gladys, and Carl Baus, both of Fond du Lac, one sister-in-law, Lucy Baus of St. Cloud; and a godchild, Barbara Baus of Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife on Dec. 28, 1975, and a brother Louis Joseph Hinn, on Dec. 18, 1968.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Louis Church. The Rev. Jerome Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will be held at 8 p.m.
