A large crowd met at the home of J.W. Davenport Sun afternoon to pay the last tribute of respect to his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Davenport who died Sat 8 Mar 1941 at the age of 85 years. She had spent most of her life in this community, was known and beloved by all for her charitable disposition toward humanity. To describe her life would say “Thinketh no evil, and is kind.†There were 73 auto and 3 trucks in the procession. A goodly woman has fallen, may her life be emulated by those who knew her.
