Raymond C.Nellen, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at the Willows Nursing Home in Sun Prairie. He was born in Boyd, WI on May 3, 1914 and was the son of John and Katherine (Kurt) Nellen. He married the former Ruth Thompson on October 17, 1953 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. Raymond owned and operated Nellen Trucking until 1963. He then worked for Renk Seed Co. until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Joan (Gary) Andrewjeski of DeForest; two sons, James (Linda) Nellen of Madison and John (Linda) Nellen of Marshall; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Renee, Ted, Tricia, Angie, Johnas, and Paige; two sisters, Catherine (James) Susee of Sun Prairie and Mary Meier of Columbus; one brother, Henry Nellen of West Allis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Aloysius, Norbert, and Herman; and a sister, Agnes Salewski. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 1998 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St. with Father Duane Moellenberndt officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Hearts Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 1998 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, where a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. WSJ 11/26/1998
