His name when they were in Italy was Giovanni Alberto Alladio, they changed it to John after immigrating to America.

His nickanme was 'Onne' and that is also how all of us in the family called him.
His brother Frank's nickname was 'Orf', he was an outstanding athlete.

John "Onne" A. Alladio was married to Agnes Bridgett O'Sullivan.
He was a bottler at a winery.
They had two sons, John Joseph, and Joseph Frank (dec.) 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as of 2010. They lived in Portland Oregon in 1959.

Grandpa 'Ohn' loved to garden and smoke his tobacco pipe while watching football and baseball games. He loved attending San Francisco Giants games and football games were his favorite. He had a large leather chair he would watch games from in the living room smoking his pipes that were held in a stand on his right side.

He was particularly fond of Snap Dragons and Gladiolas in his garden in Oakland CA. He was in the produce industry working for Safeway and once owned an Italian Deli in Oakland near their home on Foothill Blvd. The deli had old hard wood floors. He collected mushrooms in Marin county and dried them in the garage and sometimes sent some home to family in Italy. He was a devoted and cherished grandfather.

He passed away from cancer of the tongue associated with his tobacco pipe smoking.

The Alladio family arrives at Ellis Island in NY on March 24, 1914 on board the ship 'Rochambeau' departing from Le Havre from Busca, Italy. (Northern Italy). There were already Alladio family members living in the San Francisco Bay area.
