From Ancestry.com. Anna Mikulecky Bauer was born when James Buchanan was in the White House. Her parents came from Bohemia. She married John Bauer at age 16, and their first home was a log cabin. She remembered making a four mile hike to attend a one-room schoolhouse, and returning to a home where kitchen activities centered around a big, black, woodburning stove. She received 100th birthday greetings from President & Mrs. Eisenhauer. She and John had ten children, 26 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, & 10 great-great-grandchildren. She died in Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin on September 9, 1960.
