This bio is an attempt to give a word of caution to any Shepard descendant. If I can save a life I will be extremely greatful. Emery died from a rare colon cancer that has been passed down for generations. It is familia adenomatous polyposis (FAP) many doctors do not fully know about FAP, the will try to treat you for general population colon cancer. The big difference is that general population cancer grows 1 or 2 tumor, FAP grows thousands of polyps that turn almost 100% into cancer. I have traced it back to the mid 1800s. At that time our people were listed as just having cancer (they didn't know about FAP). Prior to that I have seen our peple declared as dieing of mysterious abdominal pain. Please get scopes done starting about age 12. It would also be wise to have a genetic test. You are looking for CD factors to be missing. If you have trouble getting a doctor to test you because you are too young, email me. My nieces and nephews have run into that. After I send my records to my relative, their doctors comply. I know one of our family dieing at age 16 from FAP. Dr. Grubor of Ann Arbor made a FAP chart of our family in his study of the family. I have kept updating the chart. I can also send you an explanation of FAP written for us by Dr. Gruber THERE IS NO REASON for people to die from FAP now because the doctors simply remove your colon. It can rarely show up in the small intestine and stomach. I have had a couple at the entrance of my small intestine, but none in my stomach
