DIED: Peter Seese, father of Mrs. F. M. Truex, of this place died at his home, three miles southeast of Benton, on the 24th, of dropsy, aged some over 66 years. The funeral sendee was conducted by Rev. Daniel Shively, on Tuesday, and the remains were placed in the Rodibaugh Cemetery.

Peter Seese was my 3X Great-grandfather. Peter was born in Ohio, probably in Montgomery County to a unknown father and a mother by the name of Elizabeth LNU. Elizabeth was from Pennsylvania and was living with her son, Peter and his family in the 1840 and 1850 census. Perhaps her husband was also from Pennsylvania. The surname, Seese was sometimes spelled Sease.
