Foster Bonnett served in the Second Mississippi Cavalry regiment during the War Between the States and was a POW for many, many months during the war. Following his release as a POW he returned to Itawamba County, Mississippi where he married Sarah Catherin "Sallie" McDonald. They moved to Kaufman County, Texas in 1872 joining Sallie's family who had already settled there.
Foster and Sallie ought to be remembered as one of the pioneering families of that great county.
