DEATH OF CHRISTOPHER RHYNE.
He Passed Away at the Ripe Old Age of Eighty-One.
Christopher Rhyne, aged 81, died at his residence near the city Wednesday night.
Mr. Rhyne was a native of Gaston county, but has been living in this county for 24 years. He was at one time the wealthiest citizen of Gaston, but after the war lost his property by securing debts. He was a member from childhood of St. Mark's Lutheran church, and was regarded as a good man and true friend. He was, physically, a remarkable man, never having had but one spell of sickness in the 81 years of his life.
Mr. Rhyne was the father of Will Rhyne, and of the Messrs. Rhyne, of Rhyne and Bro., of this city.
The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o'clock, at the residence, and the interment will be at Elmwood at 11 o'clock.
