Mrs. Rosa I. Bailey, 81, Gifford, died last night in a Kirksville hospitl where she had been a patient two weeks. Mrs. Bailey had been in ill health for several years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Winigan Christian Church with the Evangelist Paul Crist officiating. Burial will be in the Winigan Cemetery.
The body will be in Jackson-McCollum Funeral Home, Gifford, until noon tomorrow when it will be removed to the church.
Mrs. Bailey was born Sept. 25, 1888 in western Macon County, the daughter of Charles and Minnie Belle Greenstreet Davis. She married Jessie Bailey on Oct 4. 1905 and they were the parents of seven children.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lanadia Magers, Gifford; four sons, Milo, Lockport, Ill., Cyeral, Elmer, Farrin, rural LaPlata, and Willard, rural Winigan; five brothers, John Davis, New Boston, Homer, Bucklin, Kenneth, Gail and Park Davis, all of Brookfield; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Yoakum, Brashear, and Mrs. Della Kohler, Brookfield; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 2, 1955; an infant daughter; one son, Buford, in 1931; five brothers and four sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Bailey farmed west of Gifford where she lived until 1962 when she moved into a nursing home in Brookfield. She later moved to the LaPlata Nursing Home where she lived until she became ill.
