Joyce Danielle Dempsey Fuqua, 71, of Irving, Texas, formerly of Waco, passed away at a local nursing facility in Waco, March 30, 2010. Memorial services are to be scheduled at a later date in Waco, Irving and Houston. She worked as a graphic designer for the Art Department at the University of Dallas for many years, where she was loved and known by the students and co-workers as a wonderful friend. Joyce loved working at the University doing computer work. She also enjoyed watching her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, on a regular basis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude "Bill" Fuqua III, March 1, 2010. Joyce is survived by her son, Jim Dempsey and wife, Brenda; two sisters, Dolores Wheeler of Euless, and Janey Donnell of Waco; two grandchildren, Steven and Lynette Dempsey of Waco; step-grandson, Thomas Gillespie; step-granddaughter, Heather Gillespie; two great-grandchildren, Kendell and Taylor Dempsey; one step-great-grandchild, Aiyana Gillespie; and nieces and nephews.
