Mrs. Martha Pfeiffer, Brownsburg, died Thursday morning, Sept. 3, 1981 at Golden Manor Health Care Center, Brownsburg. She was 86. A Brownsburg resident since 1957, she was born June 1, 1895 at Lizton. Her parents were Peter and Clara Bailey. She was married to Irving Pfeiffer who died in 1961.
She graduated from Lizton High School, the former Central Normal College at Danville and Indiana University. Mrs. Pfeiffer taught school at Montclair and LaPorte several years ago.
Mrs. Pfeiffer is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Rothenberger, Lizton, and Margaret Tamlin, Brownsburg; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Charlene, is deceased.
Rev. Joe Wilson, Brownsburg Christian Church, officiated at the funeral Sept. 5 at Jones and Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
